A left-field entry from Strymon's analogue βSeries Aβ, the Canoga strips things right back to a two-knob silicon fuzz rooted in vintage Fuzz Face circuits. It started as a handful of forgotten workshop builds, later revived and refined into something properly musical and responsive.
Full tilt it delivers thick, saturated fuzz, but the real trick is how it reacts to your guitar. Roll the volume back and it cleans up into bright, articulate tones that hold together without turning to mush. It rewards direct connection and a slightly pushed amp, leaning into that late '60s approach where the guitar, pedal and amp all work together rather than in isolation.
Simple on paper, but full of movement under the fingers.
